How May I Help You?

I wish I could go back to the times...

I wish I could go back to the times,

When hide and seek and hopscotch was all that was on our minds.

And it was so much money,

A few nickels and dimes;

And why wouldn't adults take the pennies I tried to use to pay?

Here's a funny question, how may I help you?

That concept is new.

Because to know how you can help me, I need to learn what help means too.

Just another thing to add to the queue.

Because I don't know how you can help because I don't know how to help myself.

Help myself I say;

Oh yes I start to sway.

Because this world is full of the "self-help" way.

But if I don't know about help, nor myself, then I will start to stray.

And if I start to stray,

Then I'll start to play,

Around in my mind because in the real world we are all prey.

Because this world it's all about the money.

And no it isn't funny.

This world it isn't sunny,

But a dark, dark corner in a dark, dark place.

And although I have yet to learn, I must learn to.

No, we may not even have a clue.

But yet I must stand here and ask,

"How may I help you?"
