How Could You?

Poem

Why? I don’t know how you’ve got the nerve.

I dropped him like a hot coal for you but you wouldn’t do the same.

Why does he matter more than our friendship?

Do you love him? Or “It’s going really well?”

The latter, but that’s what you say about most of them.

So you use me and he used me. So I suppose you suit each other.

You said different, that to him it was all a joke.

But you soon changed your story.

Before I wasn’t meant to talk to him, he wasn’t meant to talk to me.

He was a bad apple apparently. But now it seems he is the apple of your eye.

I am only seeing a pipsqueak of truth in these stories:

They don’t add up. But I’m sure you will both work it out together.

Me, I’m off, I don’t need two calculators.
