70's slow jams

Techno underscores

Scotch on the rocks

One gulp

Alfred Hitchcock critiques

And voiceovers

Baby you’re a whole new mystery

A compilation

(Yes I learned that word from you)

Of the old ways

And gestures

Passed

By the paternal familia

And your time in this world

The family breakfast

Where you both insist the last piece of sausage into one another

Turned into family brunch

With your unapologetic

Late day ways

His sport expectations

Their place

In the workplace

Leads you

To tell the kids

It's just for fun

High fives all around

You say you'll never move in with me

Before marriage

Dreamlike state

Of the 1950’s

Let's pave the way

For a brighter tomorrow

And get that blue carpet one bedroom

We hypothetically saw

Drunk

Last month

On Craigslist
