Homesickness

Sitting in bed at 11 pm,

Wishing you were living in 9 am tomorrow

That’s what homesickness is all about my friend

Full of longing, wistfulness and sorrow.

Scrolling through an ocean of pictures,

To feel how you once felt living in that moment.

But the more you try to relive the joys of past

The more and more, you feel broken.

Why did you move here?

New city, new faces, new traditions.

While some thrive off of this rush,

Being nostalgic was your constant condition.

Your friends could not comprehend your feelings too well,

Since they never knew what it was like being estranged

From a place you will forever call home

Falling out of a nest, is the best way homesickness could be explained.
