A Poem

Home is you dressed in Yale blue,

Home is the residual scent of your perfume,

Home is you lying next to me in your room,

Ripples in the sheets between our feet,

Intertwined and losing time,

The cascading sun never looked so right,

I fell into you by the night,

Home is you just for today,

Home is you just for tonight,

It won’t hurt me that much if I can’t stay,

I just want to be home for one more day.

Is it morally unsound?

To feel that your soul has agreed to be found,

Even if it’s just for tonight,

Even if I can’t stay,

I promise, I will be alright.
