Submerged in darkness,
the warmth presses in and eyes
close in surrender.
A fiery glow
spreading across the pale blue,
sinking with the passing time
A sea of purple in Spring
with the buzz of bees,
the humidity lingers
Empty bottles lie
on these lonely cobbled steps,
with not a soul left.
A single smile can
lift sorrowed spirits before
darkness consumes them.
Alone you wait and
he's there with a cigarette,
neither of you move
A salty taste on
lips that speak of the ocean,
as if it were home.
A sea of colour,
a petal of every kind
dancing in the wind
You breathe fire like
a dragon with your harsh words,
and you burn us all.
Autumn leaves rustle
beneath feet on muddy ground,
and birds sing the hymn.
