Her Voice

A Poem of Nature

As you listen to the silence,

You find true noise.

The gentle breeze entices the shuffling of the branches.

They sway themselves against one another

Collectively dancing to the rhythm of the wind.

The cicadas sing throughout the forest of the trees;

The cicadas song hold a steady rhythm and beat,

Which creates a feeling of warmth and comfort.

I look above, to the willow peering down on me

I smile as the Spanish moss tickles my forehead.

The moss encompasses the ground around me

Filling me with a sense of safety and serenity.

In front of me the soft body of water glides ripples into one another

Following the lead of the wind.

Life has given me true silence,

yet in this moment Mother Nature has shown me her voice.
