Her Love Remains

A Dream I Had After My Cousin Passed Away

In my bed I lay, waiting till the new day

Tears running down my cheeks, yet I am in a deep sleep

From above I see me there, a broken heart in despair

She is gone and can’t return, nothing can heal the hurt

And so in my sleep I cry.

Suddenly I see a light, and my heart is filled with delight,

Soft arms wrap around me, and some pain begins to fade,

My cousin’s image appears and she whispers

“Sweetheart I am okay.”

The tears stop and I see myself smile, as she fades away.

Her warmth stayed with me, until the sun could take its place.

I woke to realize, even though she is gone her love remains.
