Her Blue Ribbon

For Her Guardian In Blue

By Jack MartinPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

She remembers the day he had gone away and all the words she could not say.

For she was a stuttering fool with dopey bangs and kept her heart at bay.

Many moons have come and left, but she still remembers him best

For she was the one who told him to continue on his quest.

Father like son and brother like brother

join forces in the community and lean on each other.

A guardian suited and armed for success

And though he had left she wished him the best.

So should you see a girl with blue ribbon in her hair

Its probably for the guardian whom she still cares

Not a word ever spoken from a heart frozen in time

I know because I'm the girl that remembers when he was mine.
