A short poem for someone I care greatly about.
May she rest well.
By, Kandis Kellie
Her.
She was different because they told her she was.
She was ugly because that's what they called her.
She was scared because they told her to be.
She was 12 when she became my bestfriend.
She was 19 when she decided she wasn't good enough for this world.
She was different because she was her own person, who didn't want to be like the rest of us.
She looked at the world with such beauty, you'd almost believe it really was perfect.
She had a natural gift.
It was called 'kindness'.
The only ugly thing she had was a sweater around Christmas time.
She was scared because she knew it was too late for some people to change for the better.
But it's not.
People can change.
She changed me.
