Heaven

I wonder what it’s like to go up above

To be a spirit or a ghost, someone others love

I wonder what it’s like to be in the clouds so high

To be looking down on your family from the midnight sky

I wonder if it’s a sense euphoria and complete and utter rapture

If you see a moment in time that was a lovely capture

I wonder if it’s like floating down a gentle river bed

A tender caress of charming words being said

I wonder what it’s like to see this supposed light

Whether it’s warm or cold, piercing or dim, bright or white

I wonder what paradise looks like, if it’s the most picturesque landscape you’ve ever seen

Or perhaps it is a memory, the most beautiful place you’ve ever been

I wonder if it’s all silken with a comfy feather quilt

Cushioned fur, the scent of fresh linen or blossomed roses just beginning to wilt

I wonder what it’s like to be soaring with a shooting star

Gazing upon the Aurora and flying to lands afar

But most of all I wonder every day where my loved ones could be

And hope that they are at peace, this family I dream to see
