I have had my heart broken
By my best friend who showed me a new world
He desired something more from me than friendship
By my first love who made my dreams come true
He could not wait until I was ready to move to the next step
By my family who I know I can rely on whenever the times are bad
They never cared to know me beyond my funny quirks
By my father who recognizes my potential to be more vast than the space
He urges me to follow a line of faceless tradition
By my mother who loves me more than she loves herself
She cannot accept me the way I am
By myself who knows me better than anyone
She never sees my value
I have had my heart broken
And so I have hope
