He Sits on My Mind
A Poem About Guilty Infatuation
He sits on my mind
and he won't let me go
Though his touch is so distant
Still vacant
Eternally so
I lay with another
Whose kiss warms my neck
Whose breath is a comfort
but my head is a wreck
Inside are smashed tables
with ink spilled asunder
My fantasies clap
with thoughts loud as thunder
Why is this the case?
And when will it end?
I know I don't want him
My brain needs to mend
Help me, please
Now why don't you?
My will?
Some high, greater power
Or soon I will perish
At this ungodly hour
