He's Like The Weather

Slow and steady; harsh, but pretty.

White dots are lining the sky

Washing the street with their soft, wet feel

Not a trace of your footprints in the snow

I used to follow them everywhere I'd go

But now I’m as lost as a baby deer trying to find its way home

I come to a part of town where its a bit unsettling

I hear bar brawls nightly

Remembering how you would always intertwine your arm with mine

To keep me safe from the nighttime

But you're no longer here

And that faint smell of Chrysanthemum

Gets me so puzzled, Dear

Cause it's not even that time of the year

The sun rose above the ocean today

The chill was a bit too much to stay

Just like your heart when you left me last May

The anchor couldn't keep you from leaving

Now its tied back to me and I'm slowly drowning

It's a full moon

If we weren't together; you said to look up

So here I am in the middle of the street

Stepping on colorful, fallen leaves

Staring up at this bright, starry scene

Are you following my lead?

The storm is creeping upon me

I thought it would leave when you let me be

But the rain is falling down

And the lightning has brought me to the ground

Electricity is flowing in my bloodstream

The sky is grey, the distance blurry

He's like the weather
