Let’s talk politics for a second,
Let’s talk about political debates
And how they get in the way of realism.
How choosing a party doesn’t take away terrorism.
See, Republicans won this race,
And yes, economics have gone up,
And we’ve tarnished the Muslim belief.
With guns and bombs and everything under the sun.
We ban countries from entering because no one wants to face another nine eleven.
No one wants to lose love ones from skyscrapers crumbling.
But lately we are losing innocent lives for the right the bare arms.
I watched as my own city mourned our young ones.
A school I faced in varsity games,
A kid that I watched grow up shooting baskets and winning games.
We want the world to change,
I believe Americans all want the same thing.
No one wants to watch the city they’re from light candles and dig graves.
It all hurts, from Cali all the way to Tally.
From the Northeast to the Midwest.
To the fifty eight dead, to every student and staff member lost in Douglas.
To fantasy leagues, and concerts held in England.
Way back in columbine or Sandy hook,
These are all moments this great nation shook, these are the lives that gun violence took.
From Orlando, where I went to college and gay pride stuck.
Or Philadelphia, where being a nazi stuck.
How is it that we can’t realize mental illness to still exist.
How is it that we would pick violence over anything.
Maybe it’s time we find a new way.
