Hard To Breathe

Empty feelings,

Mindless thoughts.

A soulless body waiting to fade away,

A heart dies, rotting in the cold...

I look up at the full moon

Its beauty amazes me beyond doubt.

I turn my head to the ever-bright stars,

Shining as bright as the love I had for you.

It's hard for me to breathe.

Walking in the sand, waves crashing

On the shore, I see the moon's reflection.

Remembering all those times you held me

Memories coming back, emotions rising from deep within...

"Fight it back, fight it all back," I say.

Too damn late.

Tears come crashing down like the waves upon the shore.

Anger rises to the surface, then it all goes black.

I let myself drift away

Deep, deep into the darkness...

I wake up the next day. Where am I?

In an empty room, nothing but a bed.

A silhouette appears from the shadows,

Masked from light, all I see is his face.

It's hard for me to breathe.

It all comes back in a flash

The pain, the memories

Come tumbling down

As a single tear rolls down my cheek.
