Goodnight, Daddy’s little Precious.
Goodnight, Daddy’s little precious…
May God bless you as you sleep.
I want you to know as you close your eyes…
That you’ve made my life complete.
Every day you make me prouder…
Each working day I miss you more.
As I tuck you in and kiss your head…
I feel what life Is for.
Every night the feelings stronger…
I can’t explain my love for you.
I swear to keep you safe from harm…
I swear I’ll always be there for you.
So sweet dreams, Daddy’s little precious…
May God bless you as you sleep.
Another treasured memory this evening…
You have given me to keep.
Close your eyes now my Angel…
Now don’t you have a single fear.
‘Cause Daddy’s just a blink away…
And promises will always be here.
Goodnight, Daddy’s little precious…

The Fish Song
The room didn’t smell like disinfectants. Its fragrance seemed light and not overbearing. A soft mixture of lavender and mint permeated the space. No beeping machines or any tubes hooked up to four-year-old Kaleeka. Her cacao skin seemed to glow from the light over her head. The family, save for one and the doctors and nurses exited the room like a trail of saints showing their last vestiges of regard.
