Goodbye, Goodbye

I let you go and set myself free.

Mouth closed, palms wet

My heart was pounding out of my chest

“You’re so hot” I heard you say

But not to me, not any day

My face turned red, I fell into shock

God I was wishing that you’d stop

But you didn’t care, no I didn’t matter

You took her by the hand, pulled her close,

And made my heart shatter

But I’m ok now as you see

I let you go and set myself free

So don’t fret or panic, no don’t you dare frown

I’m over here laughing, laughing real loud

Now you’re a memory stuck in my mind

You were a lesson learned, a lesson that stands

The test of time

I never again wanna love someone like you

Cause I hate seeing my world being painted the colour

Blue

I thought you were it, the guy that I could have

But you had me in for another trap

But see I got out just in the nick of time

I got out before you could break my soul and take away

My life

See no chains, no cage, not even a cell would do

You couldn’t trap me in your love game even if you wanted to

I’m a big girl now, yes I know better

I know when to tell my heart no

I know when a guy won’t measure

You couldn’t measure to my standards

No, not even to my personality

You couldn’t measure to banters

Even if you tried, you’d probably fail miserably

So I’m glad that I’m over you

Now I know what to do

Say bye-bye-bye like NSYNC

Say bye-bye-bye to you

Goodbye Mr. It was nice knowing you

Goodbye Mr. Hope to never see you

Goodbye Mr. Ahh, what’s the use

Goodbye Mr. Man, I’m not even in the mood

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
