Gone

I was so terrified that I would have to miss you forever. I thought it was over for good because we had come so so far yet you still walked away. You pushed me and then around and ran. There I stood, hemorrhaging every dream featuring your face, each one of them dragged behind you as if a reluctant dog on a leash. The air became thin, I swear it did, because for what other reason could I suddenly become light headed? It was as if I was on top of a mountain, everything fell away including my breath. I felt the ice in my veins. There it was, the fear ever so surely and steadily immobilizing me. I didn't know what to do because I thought I lost you, but my question is, were you scared too??
