In Lacrimosa

What weeping my eyes have bled

I formed you from my tears

The music that created you

Those years ago

And I still see you

As clearly as ever

You came to me in a dream

And for the briefest moment

You were real

Your hair in curls

The colour of rich chocolate

Smelled of sunshine

It was frizzed in July heat

It was your birthday

My sweet summer child

Warm and alive with vibrancy

But this world wanted you too soon

Ripped you from warmth

Into this cold, unfeeling world

What tearful glory to see you

To hold you

Someone to love me

As I would love

But angels wept

To see your face

They selfishly wanted you

For themselves

In stifled sobbing

I relinquished you

They promised me a requiem

But still I couldn't help but cry

As I watched those chocolate curls

Vanish behind an angel's wing

Swept away behind alabaster pillars

To streets paved of gold

And the sweetest music to touch your ears

But even heaven couldn't keep you from me

As I knelt, in tears, I felt you

Although I couldn't see

I felt your tiny hand brush my hair

I felt a swelling in my heart

Of love and summer warmth

The requiem I was promised

And through mournful tears

I smiled

At the memory of you

That only angels could convey

About the Creator

A. R. Ambrosi

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!

I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
