Glass Child

"False Promises"

I’ll promise you hope

and I’ll promise you an ache

But I just can't promise that I won't just break

I just don't know how to cope.

I'm not broken

Just a little bit cracked

It's loudly unspoken

It's plainly a fact.

I’m a glass child

Not much worthwhile

I know I might have smiled

But I'm in one of the troubled files.

I live in the projects

Old fashion rejects

Hide your wallets when I pass girl

Broken dreams in my pin curls.

I will smile when I pass

But that smile won't last

Not very long until I tare

How come you're not aware?

I’m a glass child

Not much worthwhile

I’m just a little wild

I know that's putting it mild.

Why are you crying?

I don't really care

Just kidding I’m lying

I’m just living life off a dare.

A little too late

That's just my game

Time can just wait

I’m never the one to blame.

I’m a glass child

Not much worthwhile

What can I say? The crowd has me riled.

They're all hype for us small town exiles.

I didn't run away

My parents are on the run

You see, they don’t want to pay

But what they did is already done.

The police do the crimes

We’re all guilty here

We reminisce sometimes

What goes in comes out the other ear.

We’re all glass children

Even your grandchildren

Even now this town in barren

Not much can be hidden

Where we’re all one of a million.

Glass child is about a fragile youth and ignorant elders.
