Damn
you gave me something new
it stung so well in the end
no remorse, I would do it all again
an energy so strong it could shake the ground
under my feet
so strong it could erupt all the volcanoes
so strong like a wind that would knock out the palm trees
out of their roots
in the familiar cities we passed by
backseat grasps in the heat of '18
a passion that illuminated me whole
and lifted me to the highest heights
Though I digress
as I am left with only loud and subtle memories
bittersweet endings to mark new beginnings.
