Ghost Story

A 'Poem'

The shudders bang against the window.

A chill runs down your spine as your fingers grasp

the neck which once accepted air so freely.

You think to yourself as a voice rasps

unintelligible things into a voice recorder,

"Is this real?"

The fear receptors in your body spike,

and you don't know what to feel.

Paralyzed,

your mind screams that it's all fake -

that your mind is playing tricks on you,

but as the breaths you take . . .

grow few and far between . . .

and the figures appear behind your hooded eyes . . .

you start to realize . . .

You didn't say "GOODBYE."
