Pages fall from the calendar
I’ve met a thousand faces
So many hours pass
But you’re still all I think about
Can’t rationalize why you’re still on my mind
You can’t find a minute for me
Yet I’ve dedicated almost a year to the idea of you
You say I don’t understand how it is
I’ve tried to see your side
I can’t bring myself to let go
I wonder if you cry for me
If you wonder about me when you do laundry
When you see a bathroom sign
Or when you stand in the rain
I know I think about you
Have I been reduced to a misguided choice from a past life?
A reminder of someone you used to be?
If you never return, then I will yearn for you from afar
My heart will ache when you walk by
And I will exist, never whole, because you will always have a piece of me with you
