Frozen

The Day I Lost You

Cold nibbles at my cheeks.

I look at you looking away

Looking down.

Your eyes are gone

Two empty black circles

Staring right through me

I let them down.

I couldn't save us

Now the sun has disappeared

The cold has crept up on us.

The wind blows your hair.

It kisses your nose and cheeks

Turns them pink.

It has stolen your words.

It brushes away my tears

Before they begin to fall

The cold has left me stunned.

My thoughts, my lips, my voice

Numb.

I'm frozen inside and you

You're already gone.

The wind took you too

Far away from me.

Where?

I fear I'll never know

Something deep inside me

Cries out to you

But it cannot escape my body.

Say something

Say you love me

Ask me to stay

Come back.
