The Figment of My Imagination

As a child you are taught to have imagination,

Teachers encourage you to have it,

And it's fun for awhile, then you get older,

The fun child like imagination disappears,

The tables have turned on you, you start to question

what is real and what is a figment of your imagination,

People who said "we'll always be friends," suddenly,

They disappear out of your life, not because you deserved it,

But because the people who should still be there,

Forgot you, for them you were easily replaceable,

Despite you finding them irreplaceable, out of nowhere,

A cold hard reality hits you, all along,

These people called "friends," just turned out as,

Figments of my imagination.
