She was like a faded tapestry
Ancient
Intricate
Elegant
A million past lives
Woven into the fabric
Of her being
But this was just one aspect
She was modern
And chic
A sensual dance
To tribal drums
The limelight of a musician's dream
The cool dim of a darkened club
She was a spectrum of many colours
Whose names I could never guess
A gypsy reading fortunes
A barmaid in a speakeasy
A dancer to captivate my eyes
Infinite incarnations
Of herself
But always
Always
My love
She was the fire of a billion suns
Burning comfortingly
In a quiet hearth
Which I slept beside
Three hundred and fifty years ago
Burning maddeningly in my heart
Inciting me to rise
And rise again
To seek her
As she sought me
I'll find you in the next life
She promised a thousand times
And when I kissed her
I tasted the blood on her lips
A ghost from the future
A premonition from the past
The image of her
Drove me to madness
Until I awoke
From my fevered dreams
To find her again
Sleeping next to me
About the Creator
A. R. Ambrosi
I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
