The metamorphosis of long enforced rules
From condemnation of self
To a glorious freedom
Of the light deterred for so long
Finally set burning through the facades
Created for safety
But destroyed all the same
The fear of living
Making way for the beauty
Held at bay for so long
For fear of ridicule
Of being wrong
Of feeling beautiful
And inspiring wonder
When the world would burn these dreams
Take what they can and destroy what is left
But what they'll never know
Is the strength that comes
From surviving the flames
And burning all the brighter
