whats between noggin’.
Y'all's mumble rap
be difficult to comprehend.
Chopped up sentences,
mispronounced words,
Just to be all hype at the end.
Chorus with a lingo
just doesnt have
a lyrical flow.
Game of scrabble,
Omit it like an option
Cross four tiles on ya incompetence,
Don't understand do ya?
slow in ya own conscious.
See this cheese
on my face.
Its pretty cute
aint it?
What's worse is that you’ve already
Judged me
Based on my
sex
race
and what you claim
“body language.”
Its hard to be original
It gets lonely sometimes
But the difference between you and I
I invest in alone time.
Shine on myself and my own mind.
Creating, placing, and mixing words within a timeline
Free will
To be
Think
And feel
On my time.

Rose
The root kept on growing like weeds all between the cracks of cement, until one day someone decides to water it. Gave it some attention. Where a flower then began blooming, so joyful; so comfortable in trusting that water will come the following days to finish growing. At the final stage, all the petals sprout and the flower waits for more love and acceptance. But a pluck at a petal causes disarray. Forgiveness, for although it trusted you to keep it beautiful, you have failed. And all the rage and insecurities built have led you to not only snatch petals but unplug the cord from the cement and leave it lying next to the cracks of past hurt and memories with the inability to reconnect but to just dawn directly at it like an on-going horror film.

I was born in 1990. In May, smack dab early mid-year. I am quite LITERALLY the definition of a '90's' kid. I don't remember a lot of commercials from when I was younger, but I do know that growing up women in media were photoshopped, sculpted, and molded to be Barbie perfect.
