As I sit here,
I gaze upon
this beautiful woman.
She reminds me
of all the other beautiful woman
I have loved before.
That I have loved
like her
before.
The way the light graces her skin.
So smooth,
and sensitive to the touch.
The curves of her body
are gentle and soft
under the fingers
of the sun’s morning rays. Art: Ani by Juliette Aristides
How I envy the sun
for being able to caress her
like that.
Her olive tone
reminiscent of days spent
making love
in the dunes of Riserva dello Zingaro.
I can almost hear the waves
crashing into the shore
as she moans.
A glorious song of ecstasy,
and as I kiss her flower-like neck,
I can taste the salt of the sea.
But much like all the other woman
I’ve ever loved,
I can only love her
from afar.
Through the glass
of another life.
One where I am not only the observer,
but also the painter
and the portrait.
I am there with her.
And we are in love.
