Cotton,

you were the quiet shoulder I slept on.

A trustworthy whisper from the past,

the only person I ran to,

when all I had were coins of despair.

Silk,

you were the reason for the guilt I wear so well,

the shadow with a screaming conscience,

the diamond I was never able to steal completely.

I loved you with an explosion of warm indifference.

Leather,

the disaster I loved to bring to life.

You were rough to the touch,

my favorite bullet to use after a long day.

I wish you could've stayed the extra hour.

Satin,

you were a melting pot of blessings and curses,

fidelity never came easy to you,

and for a moment there,

you let me keep you.

My iron fists still soften at the recollection of your smile.
