Forgiveness or Bondage
Forgiveness Frees You
I never understood forgiveness until I tried it.
I heard others speak about how it freed you but truly I just chalked it up to pour bullshit.
I mean, how could the act of forgiving someone for doing me wrong release me from bondage and rage?
What I did not realize was the anger attacked me more while that person went on with their day. Hell, maybe even another age.
The longer I held on to it; the shorter my time here on earth became.
I woke up on the right side of the bed one morning, and decided to end this dangerous game.
Rolling the dice one memory at a time. Starting with the most hurtful of them all.
I won't lie to you, I stumbled a little but I worked my way up. I was DETERMINED NOT TO FALL.
When it was finally complete, I mean across the finish line. You couldn't tell me nothing. A weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
It felt like I was carrying the burdens of 10,000 boulders.
Take it from me learn how to forgive so you won't be a slave to your own anger.
Carrying all that hurt and pain is a danger and has the potential to force you into solitude. To your family and friends you become a stranger.
Don't trade in life for...
Dysfunction, confusion, and strife.
