Forest Guardian
Lisi and the Great Horned Stag
She drinks in the light
The first rays of spring
Her sustenance
The budding flowers
Upon the trees
And the spectrum of light
The vernal sun creates
Between their branches
She is the guardian of this forest
Born with the equinox
A spirit only of this season
With only the beauty of spring
To nourish her
And her sole companion
The great horned stag
Who steps out
Only in the light
Of the full moon
To recharge his coat of white
To silver
Her bare feet crush
Evening primrose
As she steps gracefully
To greet him
The fragrance of their florals
Drift upon the air
His dark eyes look into her light ones
He too is a guardian of this forest
As ancient as the trees themselves
She smiles at him
A greeting
As of old friends
A quiet understanding
Passes between them
He bends his legs
Bows to her
Lowering his head
She touches his antlers
Gently
In reverence
A sign of her deepest respect
A long moment of bonding
Passes between them
Magic tingles in the air around them
Her hair crackles
As the residual magic of the moon
Leaves his antlers
Graces her with its light
The moon peeks out
From behind a wide oak
Full and glorious
And glowing
The white stag glows silver
As the moonbeams
Touch his coat
He raises his head
Startled by the moon's
Sudden appearance
His eyes grow wild
He expels a gust of air
From his nose
As if he's irritated
He tosses his majestic head
He paws at the ground
In evident agitation
She backs away solemnly
Giving him proper distance
And sadly she watches
As he turns
Disappears through the trees
She waves sadly
At his retreating silver glow
And spends her nights
With sad eyes turned skyward
Awaiting the next full moon
About the Creator

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
