A Poem

The grass beneath my feet is soft and still wet from an early morning dew. I could rub my toes in the mud just below the grass, digging myself in the earth, into Mother Earth. she has given us all to this universe, it is time for me to give my body back.

I will plant my feet into the mud among her worms, among her debris and i will settle there. I shall lay down among her. Letting the cool, wet and velvety grass tickle along my back.

She will consume me as Mother Earth consumes all life. The energy she gifted me will return to her. My soul will become the soul of the trees, of the bugs and of the animals. My blood with be their breath.

As she begins her journey o take me home, the grass i laid my bare back on grows around me. It creeps up around my arms, my legs and my chest. She is gentle but unforgiving as Mother Earth takes hold. Mother Earth takes no time in consuming me with tiny blades of grass.

Before I could cry she covered my eyes and I coughed up dirt, leaving me completely breathless. Slowly her little creatures start pulling me down deep into her muddy body. Piece by tiny piece my energy, my soul is taken back in Mother Earths soil. It wont be long now before I become a baby deer taking her first steps, before I become a little lonely caterpillar waiting to turn into a colorful butterfly.

My heart she saved for last. The warmest, sweetest part of me left alone deep in her soil still beating. My love, my purest energy form saved for a giant sequoia tree. She kept my love to live on for thousands of years. To give this tree a life beyond its own. For this I will flourish in mother natures honor and beauty.
