Fire and Ice

A Poem of My Love

In this love story, we are both fire and ice.

On the bad days the conflict burns my throat and he is so cold.

On the good days though, we are inseparable. We melt into each other's arms.

We simmer quietly under the covers.

I evaporate into his love.

And although we burn, we melt and we freeze in each other's touch — he keeps me neutralized.

There is a balance I had never noticed.

On the bad days his fire melts my cold touch, comforts me.

On the good days we are a burning campfire with embers of joy.

We are content.

A world of fire and ice slowly becomes a normal world, becomes our world.
