Fire

Our Bodies

The moment your lips touched mine

I felt fire I never felt before.

Hot, burning desire through my veins.

Top of my head down to my toes, my body came alive.

I have waited for you.

The moment your eyes closed

You turned your head, turned your back,

I couldn’t breathe anymore.

My heart broke for you,

Fell into pieces on the floor

You walked away without a scratch

No damage to your frame, not one imperfection to be seen.

You walked straight through my life’s open door.

Broken, Damaged, Cracked, Shattered

I lay on the floor, empty.

Fire is gone

No desire

Ice remains

It replaced the fire.
