I wanted to tell a story

About the politicians.

But it’s so hard these days

To get someone to listen.

I tried to use the birds,

And their far reaching tweets.

But people, it seems, are deaf

So I admit defeat.

My people are led to the slaughter,

It’s like the silence of the lambs.

The ones that should be criminals,

Think that they’re just grand.

I could scream and shout,

Put some people in their place.

But no one seems to care at all,

They’re too busy with their face-book.

It’s time to put the phones away,

We should be talking to each other.

Else one day will be your last,

And you won’t get another.
