An Incredibly Embarrassing Sonnet

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

Oh, who am I to kid? You don't compare

To any living thing that walks or swims

Or climbs or flies through this wet, hazy air

A snowflake, then, since they are all unique?

Or so inductive reasoning would say

Yet to be flaky snow is to be weak

They do like changing state, and melt away

I want you kept exactly where you are

I know that this is out of my control

And yet, for your sake I would cross my star

For we are kindred spirits, joined in soul

So shall I compare thee to mine own aesthetic?

Or would that simply be waxing poetic?
