"I let the pieces fall..."

I let the pieces fall

they hit the floor, they clang

the sound rings out so loud it almost hurts

and by the time the vibrations halt

more pieces are rushing in the wake

Pieces of myself slipping onto the floor

dropping in front of me

like heavy raindrops chasing the earth

It’s almost ceremonious

becoming Dust and Air

I let the pieces fall

I can’t bring myself to grip at them

all I can do is watch

I stare

my skin looks like metal

dense and unforgiving

I am crashing down

I am thunder storms

I hurtle downwards

I fall apart

sad poetry
