Fear and Love

If I am afraid to love,

Is it really love?

Love is an emotion

Just like hate, sadness or anger.

Why are we so open to these emotions,

But we are closed off to the idea of love?

For love cannot contain fear

Because fear equals distrust.

TRUST

Trusting in a person has many meanings.

Trust is telling them the secrets behind your eyes.

Trust is letting them pick out a book series over the summer.

What about love?

Why is it that we are so eager to be resentful?

Love is just another emotion we throw around daily,

Love is nothing to us.

They won't tell me the truth.

Love is just a cry into the void of nothingness.

Love is what we use for other feelings,

The feelings of compassion and sympathy.

What happened?

We get the beautiful gift of puberty,

We get told to stop saying "I love you."

We are expected to act like adults,

But heaven forbid we feel like one.

We feel like failures when love is mentioned,

We don't love because how can a teen process love?

Don't we want emotions?

Life is a never ending slope of emotions,

But they end up being controlled.

Controlled by your camera,

Controlled by your family,

And suppressed by you.

Love.

Love is the strongest emotion.

True love's kiss brought back Snow White.

Love is what made me,

But love also made you.

Why do we fear love?

Love is what holds us together.

Love is the feeling of being happy in your own skin,

Love is the sweet smell around you,

Love is the blissful sound of laughter.

Breathe it in,

Don't confuse it with the surrounding emotions.

There is No Fear in Love.
