Fear can make you lose many things
From potential friends or new experiences
Those friends could have helped you in your time of need
or just give you people to talk to
Those experiences could have been what you've been dying to try
or gave you a path in life
Fear holds you back from trying to find out who you are
It keeps you in a prison of emotional distress and anxiety
It has you in a shell stronger than concrete
Fear may cause you to lose many things; but it can also protect
Fear can protect you from harm like that from a bear or lion
Fear is both a life saver and a destroyer

Stuck in Place
Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.
