Fall

A Poem About One of My Favorite Seasons

Summer takes its last breath and collapses into Fall,

It's now the time that I love most of all.

Green leaves turn to orange, yellow, and red,

Time for fuzzy socks, hot soup, and warm bread.

I don't think there's anything quite as liberating —

as to see Summer curtsy into Fall,

The season I have been long awaiting.

The humid warmth lifts as Autumn makes her debut,

Her cool, inviting exhales is right on cue.

Her gentle zephyrs lull each green leaf to bed,

As Autumn dresses each tree in orange, yellow and red.

Welcome Fall, whom I love most,

A beautiful time indeed, you do boast.
