As the sun lowers,
& the city starts to breathe
The darkness of the night,
I can barely see my reflection,
In the flickering street lamp.
I'm fading.
And even though the paths
Are wet from the autumnal routine
Of scattered showers
& the sky is painted;
A soft rosy red.
My body is removed from my body
& I can see my detached self,
Curled into a ball;
An orb of absolute
Nothingness.
Yet there is nothing in everything
& everything in nothing.
I'm alive,
But I'm not living.
I'm here,
But I'm not present.
Escaped into the darkness,
Others have gone;
But unlike me
They will never fade.
