Faded Hatred
It's never good to hold onto hate.

The fiery feeling that
fills your heart
with loathing
and anger that is
none too quick to leave.
It can consume your
life, turning you into
an unrecognizable monster.
It controls you and makes
you build an army to
feel justified.
Sitting in a dimly lit room
with plans plastered all over the
walls you ask yourself,
“Why.”
The feeling fades
and you’re left with the
realization that none of it
matters anymore.
The hatred stopped a long
time ago, but you tried to
bring it back to life each
and every time.
After a few years,
that hatred turns to love.
And you can forgive again.
