Face Paint

What Lies Underneath

For she wears this to hide her flaws

Breaking all of nature's laws

She walks around with a smile

But deep down inside she’s hurting

You’d never know her pain

For all that matters

She is sane

Hiding her flaws

You would never know

For she screams in the dark

While she is in her home

Crying herself to sleep

When nobody is around

For she wears nothing but a frown

Under that face paint is something extravagant

Although you’d never know the real her

She never shows

The face paint

The pain hiding her frown

You may see a smile but deep down

She’s hurting

She cries

She’s dying inside.
