Sunlight in the Darkness

2:30 PM, one week ago. The moment I realized my life would never be the same. I searched for holes to see the light, stood on garbage and benches to see the day. I wondered what he was doing, how he was doing, what he felt, if he hurt just as bad...praying that his heart didn’t hurt as bad as mine. I wondered if time would always feel stuck. Hour 22, I could no longer see the light and I wondered if it was just because hour 25 was going to bring the longest darkness I’ve ever experienced. One week since then, I was right.
