Everyone Says It'll Get Better

Losing My Dear Nana

That day I got a text

Emotion took over my body

My mind instantly went blank as silent tears began to fall

To calm myself down, I convinced myself it wasn't that bad

I quickly got to my car and drove as fast as possible

When I finally got to the hospital, there was an eerie silence

What's wrong?

The silent tears came back, I felt something wasn't right

The doctors came in and said there's nothing else we can do

I couldn't hold it in, I screamed and asked "Why?"

I felt myself shut down in confusion and sadness

This can't be real, it has to be a bad dream

She said she wouldn't leave me, she knew I wasn't ready

I went to see my once lively love, breathing still and silent

I cried more asking her to fight for me

I needed her to do the impossible

Four days later my world came to a halt

My once lively love, breathless

She's gone

My life will never be the same

Everyone says it'll get better

I just don't feel it's true
