Even Angels Sin Sometimes

A Poem

I should have known better,

Than to trust someone like you,

For even angels sin,

When the spotlight fades away.

I wish it didn't have to be this way,

But I know the longer I stay,

The deeper these wounds will become.

The halo you attain betrays you,

And portrays a second state of mind,

You attempt to advertise.

Even after the scars you make,

I'm still unsure of what to do,

With your fake persona you wear like a mask.

If only I knew,

What type of person you are,

Beyond the lies you hide behind.

You like to manipulate others,

For your own self gain,

And despite whatever reason you had,

You knew deep down it was wrong.

I know you didn't mean to hurt anyone,

But your actions were the knife,

That cut us apart eventually.

Your actions left a stain,

From the blood you let escape,

The victims to your lies,

Like this was all some little game.

Your fake tears cannot fool me,

As I've seen the real you,

And I know what your capable of.

This was all your doing,

And now you must have learnt,

How easy it is for love to die.
