Environmental Literature Journal Entry #3

Observations: Obvious physical changes. The ice is starting to melt around the edges of the lake. There is a dusting of white snow. It is very bright, white, and crisp outside today. Haven't had snow in a while. There is a little bit of a breeze. It moves the trees every now and then.
Snow is starting to pour down now. From the dark grey clouds above. It's very interesting to see how things change all of a sudden. Nothing is precise or calculated, no matter how hard we try to make it that way. No matter the technology, nature will do as she pleases. She will warm up or cool down within a day. The sun will shine, or the clouds will roll over without warning.
Analysis: We, humans, have emotions that are like nature. No matter how hard we try to control it, things will happen and our emotions will take over. We can try to look happy, act okay, but inside our emotions are raw. Right now being in this weather, it rubs off on me, my emotions, my body. I feel tired. I feel like burrowing into a blanket. I feel like staying inside. It's almost magical how we correlate with nature. However, it should be no surprise; it is what we are made of. Everything we have, use, consume is from nature. So why do we act like it is no big deal? We have to remember where we come from, not forget our roots.
