Enduring The Storm

This can't be the end; this won't be the end.

I believed the sun was vanishing.

My mind trapped, taken over

By a dark and cluttered disaster,

As if every thought got caught

In one never ending tornado.

I felt the present fade away.

.

Wanting to give into the storm,

Exhausted and battered.

For so long, I trudged on

Grasping tightly to some

Mangled sliver of hope.

.

The sun must shine again.

.

Then,

Our paths crossed

And

We made quite a trail.

.

With this radiant soul,

I no longer felt defeated.

Breathing easier, courage

No longer engulfed in dread.

Growing and letting go

As vibrant rays of light

Beam down, revealing

Each step along the way.

.

With you, it all changed.
